No Ordinary Sue is a historical fiction inspired by the 1997 Northern California Great Flood. It is an exhilarating tale of adventures, bravery, compassion, and survival where Pumpkin Sue first found herself alone and frightened in the middle of the Sacramento River as a flood refugee.

Hoang Chi Truong is the author of TigerFish, a memoir of coming of age in America as a Vietnamese refugee. Before writing full-time, she served as the GIS Division Chief to the California Office of Emergency Services from 2013 to 2016. Her current mission is to advocate and bring awareness to the issues of refugees in America.

What people are saying... What a delightful story!! The characters are darling too! "I especially love the local history, the journey, the darling illustrations, and the beautiful realization Pumpkin Sue has at the end ... It's especially endearing for locals."
